# [[Strawberry Limeade]]
**Prep Time:** 10 mins
**Cook Time:** 5 mins
**Yield:** 9x 8oz servings
## Ingredients
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 6 cups water divided
- 1 quart fresh strawberries hulled
- 1 cup freshly squeezed lime juice juice from about 8 limes
## Directions
1. In a saucepan over medium heat, add 1 cup of granulated sugar and 1 cup of water. Stir until sugar is completely dissolved - this should take about 2-3 minutes. Remove from heat and allow to cool.
2. In a blender, add your hulled strawberries and 1 cup of water. Cover and blend until smooth. Optionally, pour strawberry mixture through a fine mesh sieve to remove any seeds and lumps.
3. Add strawberry mixture to a pitcher along with simple syrup, lime juice, and remaining 4 cups of water. Stir until incorporated.
4. Refrigerate until cold. Serve over ice and enjoy.
### Notes
- Sweetness may need to be adjusted if using out of season, less sweet fruit.
- ¾ cup of sugar and water = lightly sweet, tart punch
- 1 ½ cups of sugar and water = very sweet punch.
- Fresh strawberries can be substituted with frozen, thawed strawberries.
- Limeade will keep for 3 days in the refrigerator.
